I was reading Anita’s blog today and saw these beauties (taken from her blog):

They are unbelievable! I am particularly in love with the top-right d’Orsay with the high back… how amazing! I am sure they are incredibly hard to walk in, judging by the flimsy and probably dangerous skinny curved heel, but WOW. I want to own these and put them on my coffee table! Hehe.

These take me back to when I was a kid. I used to own all kinds of ridiculous socks - socks with frills & lace, socks with little balls, and socks with bananas on them. I found these and they are such a throwback! I love them! But Martin hates them :(
But when did I ever listen to him anyways? ;)

Hermès launched a 14-piece jewelry line designed by Pierre Hardy.
“Hermès is not a very precious universe,” Hardy explained in a room at Hermès that typically houses the firm’s collection of vintage objects ranging from trunks to rocking horses.
“I simply went back to its roots and to the horse’s hoof, taking the roughest, strongest, almost radical element and giving it the most feminine, the most modern interpretation.”
When I first saw the hoof ring and necklace, I was confused. I didn’t know whether I liked it or not, but the more I stared at the ring, the more I am starting to adore it. Unfortunately, like with most other pretty things, I can only dream and stare at this through a computer screen. Prices for the collection start at a cool $23,675.

Holy effing wow. BEAUTIFUL.

I’m not really one for patterns - but this is absolutely beautiful. I can’t get over how gorgeous this dress is! If only I had the extra $1250 lying around to add this to my closet. Sigh.

Outside of my friends and boyfriend, I don’t have any family in the city, so holidays like Easter is usually spent over homemade somethings that we slaved over, a movie and some good desserts (I look forward to white chocolate bunnies every year). Today was no different - except that I decided to finally go to yoga class… and what a treat!
I was the only person that attended class today and so I had the instructor to myself! She’s my favourite instructor (Davian @ Tula Hot Yoga), too, so it was secretly very awesome that I was her only student.
At first, I was scared. I’m in no way an expert, would she judge me?
She asked me what I wanted to focus my practice on today, and I chose backbends. As soon as I said it, I almost immediately regretted it. Backbends? I haven’t practiced yoga in weeks! Months? Maybe. And here I am, thinking I can just jump into backbends?
What I love about backbends is the challenge and the feeling of accomplishment when completed. I am in IT, so I am 75% of my day is hunched over a computer, and it is really taking a toll on my posture.
We went through the first part of class preparing for backbends - and we did some partner yoga - which I thought was uber fun. How amazing it is to have someone supporting you! We practiced some backbends against the wall, and that was unbelievably fun.
I can’t wait to start getting back into yoga. I really appreciate that extra care she put into our class today… and I’ll be seeing her more often!
After I got home, boyfriend & I shared a homemade pizza and now we’re off to watch a movie together… I couldn’t have asked for a better Sunday :)

Namaste!

Yeah, yeah. I’m Canadian.
I was reading my email (this happens sometimes) and WWD is asking people to vote for their favourite American designer (yeah, that’s right, I spelled it ‘favourite’). That’s an interesting question cause there’s so much talent all over… but my answer would have Alexander Wang.
(although I can’t tell what options they present in the contest on WWD because I’m Canadian - boo urns!)
Proof? In the pudding!
I love minimal design. And I love leather and texture. And lastly, I love slightly androgynous looks.

Sadly, this is probably the only photo that turned out. I really need to learn how to use my point & shoot. Or my DSLR. Anything. Patience, young one. Patience.
Anyways. These are some of my favourites - look at the dress on that David Dixon doll! Wowsa! I want one for myself - will you make it for me, Mr. Dixon?

My twin & I went to go see the Andy The Anh show and it kind of depressed me. Don’t get me wrong, it was a beautiful collection! There was a stunning dress that walked down the runway that screamed my name… however, with the (gorgeous) wool coats came the feeling that winter will NEVER go away.
Yesterday was supposed to be a warm 18 degrees, but I was chilly in my leather pants and flats. Yaaaaah leather pants!
Hopefully, the weekend will be better - cause we’re roadtrippin’ for some Ferragamo shoes (i can only hope)!

Why.

Don’t get me wrong. Birkenstocks certainly have a place in my heart (they are my go-to when re-exploring the city when the weather is warm), but why did you have to take it to this level?
I don’t dig it.

In other news, I have converted to a MAC at work too. I am ridding my life of Windows! I can use SVN with a TERMINAL. That is news, people! I can geek it up and use a terminal!!!! And VI!! My heart is warm.
Have a lovely weekend!

I got a new lens for my camera! It’s not fancy shmancy, by any means - it’s probably the world’s cheapest lens (both price-wise and what it is made out of). However, it’s a prime lens and it is super fun to play with… as you can see above :)
For those that are curious, it’s the Canon 50mm f1/8 II. There are a bunch of youtube reviews on it, as well. It’s an amazing little lens and I think Boyfriend will want to throw my camera out the window soon (after he realizes how many photos I have/will take of him!).
Now, I just have to figure out how to use this thing.
Also, the bunnies above are from yummy bellini’s I had imbibed a few days ago with some good friends over tasty kobe beef sliders. Happy belated, Shar :)
