trying not to spend any money.

A few weeks ago, i went a whole week without spending a single dollar. i felt incredibly accomplished - and i want to start doing that again. I broke down my finances honestly this evening, and I am finding that Christmas and my upcoming vacation will really be taking a big chunk of my money. I mostly work every summer, so my summer and hot weather attire is very limited (as in, I probably only own 1 pair of shorts). So, it’s looking like I have to set aside some money just to prepare for the hot vacation - oh, but i’ll be away from this drizzly, crappy and cold weather - I can’t wait!

Today: I spent $5.37 on lunch. That was unfortunate because I made my lunch the night before - I just forgot it in the fridge. Mondays aren’t the greatest days for me and my memory. The upside was that they gave me a free orange, so I brought that home for the sickie, Martin. I like oranges and all, but, I hate the smell they leave on your hands.

So, back to topic - I plan on being the cheapest bastard for the next few weeks. So far, I’m alright with it. I have plenty of books I need to dive back into, and I’ve got my beloved gym membership (sigh). The only slip-up I can forecast is that I have an appointment for a free makeover at the Nars counter next week - and I know I’ll probably fall in love with a handful of products that I’ll just have to have.

As for the summer clothing, I hope to find the cheapest stuff in the world - like Forever 21/H&M type stuff. It’ll be an interesting endeavor - definitely a challenge. But if I could somehow end up with a handful of outfits for under $300, that would be fabulous!

It’s a shame - I really wanted to go to the Spa at least once before the vacation - but it looks like the spa will have to wait til I reach my destination. And that wouldn’t be too bad, either!

Anyways, enough of my rambling…

Solange’s album is half-decent - who would’ve known that I would dig her as much as I do?
