Holy effing wow. BEAUTIFUL.

I’m not really one for patterns - but this is absolutely beautiful. I can’t get over how gorgeous this dress is! If only I had the extra $1250 lying around to add this to my closet. Sigh.

Yeah, yeah. I’m Canadian.
I was reading my email (this happens sometimes) and WWD is asking people to vote for their favourite American designer (yeah, that’s right, I spelled it ‘favourite’). That’s an interesting question cause there’s so much talent all over… but my answer would have Alexander Wang.
(although I can’t tell what options they present in the contest on WWD because I’m Canadian - boo urns!)
Proof? In the pudding!
I love minimal design. And I love leather and texture. And lastly, I love slightly androgynous looks.

Sadly, this is probably the only photo that turned out. I really need to learn how to use my point & shoot. Or my DSLR. Anything. Patience, young one. Patience.
Anyways. These are some of my favourites - look at the dress on that David Dixon doll! Wowsa! I want one for myself - will you make it for me, Mr. Dixon?

My twin & I went to go see the Andy The Anh show and it kind of depressed me. Don’t get me wrong, it was a beautiful collection! There was a stunning dress that walked down the runway that screamed my name… however, with the (gorgeous) wool coats came the feeling that winter will NEVER go away.
Yesterday was supposed to be a warm 18 degrees, but I was chilly in my leather pants and flats. Yaaaaah leather pants!
Hopefully, the weekend will be better - cause we’re roadtrippin’ for some Ferragamo shoes (i can only hope)!

Went to the Greta Constantine F/W 2010 show last night and it was ah-mah-zing. The Greta Constantine collection was so dark and was complete with some of the sexiest leather pants ever. Can I wear leather pants to the office? I would be willing to try. Maybe.
The Ezra line was doubly ah-mah-zing. I wish I were a dude, I would rock ALL that.
I shook Stephen Wong’s hand. I am hoping that creativity flows by physical contact?
I also love that their swag bag has a drawing of knuckle dusters reading “Greta” and “Ezra”. As you may well know, I have a soft spot for knuckle dusters.
When this collection makes it to Holts, I will be there to oogle and touch. Yum!
PS: I tried to take a photo of the actual runway as the models came out, but I apparently don’t know what the hell I’m doing with my camera - I need to RTFM. :(
PPS: Wowza, 2 posts in 1 day! I have a fever… and the only cure is more blog posts.

Rinascimento satin power shoulder blazer.

It’s bold, I’m not sure if I can pull it off, but I love it anyways. It’s a fabulous piece to own :) (at least that’s what I’ve been telling myself).
Also, I had a brief love affair with the Dolce Vita April wedges I previously blogged about. They were amazing, but incredibly heavy and it isn’t a good look when a girl hobbles in hot shoes. Maybe I’ll see them again in the future and then I can convince myself that they are worth the humility. Who knows!

The only picture I own of my brief ownership :(

I know, he died almost a month ago. I’m late. This is usual (but not cause I hate being tardy for the party, it’s a pet peeve of mine).
I really, really, really want an Alexander McQueen knuckle duster ring. Okay, so I kinda wanted one before he died, but now that he’s gone, I realized how awesome and unique they are! And oh so very sold out.. EVERYWHERE.

It’s creepy and amazing at the same time.
RIP McQueen - you are sorely missed. I’m really sad that there is no one else out there that is like you.

This is on my list.

I’m not a huge fan of patent, so that’d be the only thing that would stop me from buying these (among other things… like incredibly ridiculous price).

Available at Saks Fifth Avenue.
I am obsessed with the Olympics! I can’t stop watching it - I don’t know where this this patriotism is coming from. I had no real interest in it until I watched the opening ceremonies - and now I am rocking the red mittens. I wish I had athletic talent!

I have had virtually the same hair style for the last… however long (with the exception of a 6-month stint testing out short hair - bad idea all around). So, in the spirit of new beginnings, I opted for a heavy full fringe a few weeks ago.
It’s intense. A lot of hair going on.
Sometimes, on the subway, I stare at females and their long flowy hair and their side-bangs or no-bangs and miss my old less-maintenance-required hair (who knew blowdrying and straightening my bangs every day would be such a damn hassle).
And then I saw Chanel Spring 2010 Couture collection.
Outside of the huge bow-like thing going on in the back, I am relieved that someone else is rocking the look. A whole runway show of my hair-peers!

And the dress? Gah-geous. I wonder what the dress would look like on a more curvier individual?
Also, the Boyfriend & I will be celebrating our 4-year anniversary in a few weeks. FOUR YEARS. That’s a long ass time. He already surprised me with his gift which was the most thoughtfulgifteverrrrrr. I have already purchased supplementary items that go with said gift in my excitement! He is a doll :)

Or so they say! “They” being Holt Renfrew.

It’s a t-shirt (available in white or grey) that will be exclusive to Holt Renfrew. It’s kind of cute. It’s an expensive souvenir, I guess.
$65 at Holt Renfrew, starting January 25, 2010.

I recently purchased an amazing Robert Rodriguez black cotton twill skirt (with black satin piping detailing) and I loved it. It fit perfectly, and the piping detail really accentuated curves - I probably would have said that it was my perfect skirt… except for the fact that after trying it on at home for the second time, the zipper seams pulled apart, leaving a big gaping hole.
Sigh.
At first, I had 2 options: a.) save the garment by sewing the zipper back to the skirt or b.) exchange the skirt for a non-defective one.
Then, I realized why I was so peeved - I paid a pretty penny for this skirt! Way more than I feel comfortable saying. Luxury is lost when designer pieces (that are known for their quality) falls apart after barely any use. Sure, my bum takes up a bit of room, but c’mon. Seriously?
Knowing my luck, I got the one piece that was defective, and all the rest of the skirts are military-grade. But I am not willing to take that chance. I returned the skirt and am now happy with a BCBG second-skin-type skirt (that I assumed would be incredibly uncomfortable, but they are so very much the opposite - they are the most comfortable skirts EVERRRRRR).
Also, they do not have zippers.
I needed to get this out of my system because it stirred my pot last night… I hope I’m not jaded!
