oxfords: browns, skinny pants: gap black magic cropped skinnies
I’m so late to the Oxford party. Nevertheless, I welcome these with open arms. Boyfriend keeps giving me strange looks, but I don’t care. They’re dreamy.
Gah, I love shoes.

This is my “Come on fall!” series.
I am itching and waiting and itching for autumn to come!

jacket: BB Dakota
I have a thing for jackets, blazers and scarves - so I am counting down until the days I can start taking them out of my closet to get some fresh air. This particular jacket just came in the mail today! What a pretty little thing. I got it from Karmaloop - and you can get 20% off of your first order if you use rep code ‘prettycupcake‘.
The Roots’ new album, “How I Got Over” is on repeat on the iPhone (they do not disappoint).
Until next time… toodles!

ican’twaitforfall!
Co-founded by Christopher LaPolice and Rea Laccone, casualwear label Vince is fast becoming the name to know in New York. This fall line comprises luxurious staples with a twist. Think shredded linen-blend sweaters, contrast leather shearling coats and draped leather jackets with jersey insets that make up the off-duty wardrobes of style mavens such as Kate Hudson, Renee Zellweger and Madonna.
I love oversized, drapey goodness for fall - it’s so warm, comfy and sexy - the three things I love to feel when the leaves fall.

I was flipping through it at Chapters and it is so stunning! I love Margiela! If I ever have children, I might just name mine Margiela (female, of course).
Or Yigal.
Or Alexander.
:)
Happy Friday! I am going to spend my weekend catching up on sleep and… yeah. Sleeeeep.

I am kind of surprised with the collaboration that surfaced recently - Douglas Coupland designed a few wearable items and accessories for Roots.. I have read a few of his books, so while I’m surprised an author decided to take on this type of assignment, I’m pleased with some of the pieces that he’s come up with. It’s very true to his nature.
Oooh, circuit-board skirt, scarf and leggings! I think at the very least, the skirt (and the scarf) will have to be added to my closet.

Thanks for the heads up, geekigirl! Images are from roots.com.
Also… Hey! It’s been a while. I’m still here! I’m trying not to melt in this humid, hot, awful mess of a city… and I have been in hiding since Bieber/Earthquake/G20/Blackout. Oh, Toronto - so full of surprises.

I love denim and I love leather - and together, they make the perfect match! So, I was pretty glad to hear that Paige is planning on launching a leather line as well.

The first go at leather will include 5 different styles of lambskin jackets that will be releasing in July - prices ranging from $200-325 (not confirmed that this is MSRP).
One of my favourite outfits is really soft, girly, lacy materials coupled with a sexy asymmetrical leather jacket. And a pair of Doc Martens :)
I’m not usually one for the denim companies expanding into other categories (I say stick to what you’re good at), but I have noticed that some Rock & Republic shoes and bags have caught my eye (though I try to convince myself that they aren’t as awesome as I think, just because a denim company designed them). I must get that out of my head.
In other news, I am reading a Stieg Larsson book (the first of the trilogy: The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) and I can’t put it down - I was skeptical, but after reading 300+ pages in just 3 days, I think it’s safe to say that it’s a good one *thumbs up*. It’s just a shame that I can’t buy this for the Kindle yet (shush boyfriend, you and your Kobo!)

I didn’t really coin Minkoff as a fashion designer. Her bags are alright (at one point, I really wanted a Morning After bag, but after I saw it in person, the leather just didn’t rub me the right way). However, I saw the Minkoff dresses (like this one - swooooon!) and my faith was restored.

I love the quilting of the leather! Of course, it’d be something I’d have to touch in person, but that swingpack is definitely an idea.
