RIP McQueen.

I know, he died almost a month ago. I’m late. This is usual (but not cause I hate being tardy for the party, it’s a pet peeve of mine).

I really, really, really want an Alexander McQueen knuckle duster ring. Okay, so I kinda wanted one before he died, but now that he’s gone, I realized how awesome and unique they are! And oh so very sold out.. EVERYWHERE.

It’s creepy and amazing at the same time.

RIP McQueen - you are sorely missed. I’m really sad that there is no one else out there that is like you.

YSL Tribute Patent Sandals

This is on my list.

I’m not a huge fan of patent, so that’d be the only thing that would stop me from buying these (among other things… like incredibly ridiculous price).

Available at Saks Fifth Avenue.

I am obsessed with the Olympics! I can’t stop watching it - I don’t know where this this patriotism is coming from. I had no real interest in it until I watched the opening ceremonies - and now I am rocking the red mittens. I wish I had athletic talent!

Bangs are alright.

I have had virtually the same hair style for the last… however long (with the exception of a 6-month stint testing out short hair - bad idea all around). So, in the spirit of new beginnings, I opted for a heavy full fringe a few weeks ago.

It’s intense. A lot of hair going on.

Sometimes, on the subway, I stare at females and their long flowy hair and their side-bangs or no-bangs and miss my old less-maintenance-required hair (who knew blowdrying and straightening my bangs every day would be such a damn hassle).

And then I saw Chanel Spring 2010 Couture collection.

Outside of the huge bow-like thing going on in the back, I am relieved that someone else is rocking the look. A whole runway show of my hair-peers!

And the dress? Gah-geous. I wonder what the dress would look like on a more curvier individual?

Also, the Boyfriend & I will be celebrating our 4-year anniversary in a few weeks. FOUR YEARS. That’s a long ass time. He already surprised me with his gift which was the most thoughtfulgifteverrrrrr. I have already purchased supplementary items that go with said gift in my excitement! He is a doll :)

MBMJ loves Canada

Or so they say! “They” being Holt Renfrew.

It’s a t-shirt (available in white or grey) that will be exclusive to Holt Renfrew. It’s kind of cute. It’s an expensive souvenir, I guess.

$65 at Holt Renfrew, starting January 25, 2010.

A designer failed me.

I recently purchased an amazing Robert Rodriguez black cotton twill skirt (with black satin piping detailing) and I loved it. It fit perfectly, and the piping detail really accentuated curves - I probably would have said that it was my perfect skirt… except for the fact that after trying it on at home for the second time, the zipper seams pulled apart, leaving a big gaping hole.

Sigh.

At first, I had 2 options: a.) save the garment by sewing the zipper back to the skirt or b.) exchange the skirt for a non-defective one.

Then, I realized why I was so peeved - I paid a pretty penny for this skirt! Way more than I feel comfortable saying. Luxury is lost when designer pieces (that are known for their quality) falls apart after barely any use. Sure, my bum takes up a bit of room, but c’mon. Seriously?

Knowing my luck, I got the one piece that was defective, and all the rest of the skirts are military-grade. But I am not willing to take that chance. I returned the skirt and am now happy with a BCBG second-skin-type skirt (that I assumed would be incredibly uncomfortable, but they are so very much the opposite - they are the most comfortable skirts EVERRRRRR).

Also, they do not have zippers.

I needed to get this out of my system because it stirred my pot last night… I hope I’m not jaded!

I love dresses.

I love dresses. Like, LOVE.

I’m stuck at the office late today, waiting on something, so I had a few minutes to e-browse. I am on the hunt for a couple awesome dresses this year!

Presenting… my top 5 from net-a-porter!

(in no particular order)

Click on the pictures to go to the site!

Camilla and Marc - $550

I am in lust with that colour and the shape! I think this one is my favourite.

McQ - $535

Can’t tell from the photo I provided, but if you check out the product page, you’ll see the hot pink detailing! So gorgeous.

Elizabeth and James - $545

This is a pretty impressive dress - it looks easy to wear and comfortable.

Day Birger et Mikkelson - $460

I love the ombra! Except - is that still in? Does it make me look funny? I may never know.

Alice + Olivia - $390

This looks pretty wearable and dress down & up-able (could wear a sweater or blazer to casual-ize it)

I am leaning towards these 3: elizabeth and james, camilla and marc, and day birger et mikkelson. wish i could try these on!

Please tell me I don’t need these things - Net-a-Porter.

It is Sale season! Please tell me I do not need another McQueen scarf…

Alexander McQueen silk chiffon houndstooth scarf, $230 at Net-a-Porter (was $575).

I told myself that I should not buy it, but if it’s still available to purchase in 2 weeks, it will be mine. I am half hoping it sells out :)

Have you tried Starbucks’ Gingerbread latte? I’m not one for lattes or flavoured drinks (straight water or regular old coffee for me) but I wanted a sweet treat - and this is delicious!

Modern Vintage ankle boots

These are my new loves :)  Well, one of my new loves… you’ll see my other love soon enough! My obsession with shoes is sick - and awesome at the same time.

I can’t find these online anywhere (outside of it’s sister distant cousin over at Endless). Obvious difference is the material (mine are all leather) and the heel (mine are pretty thick - which I didn’t like, at first, but the comfort factor changed my mind).

Stockings: Silk back & front seam stockings, Skirt: Tiered knee-length by Scarlett Nite, Shoes: Modern Vintage

I found a compilation of “Rap’s Top 500 Songs” - I forgot how much I loved Lost Boyz - “Renee“. It’s pretty rare nowadays to find a rapper spit hot fire like that. :)
