These pumps are gorgeous - and look very similar to one of my most lusted after shoes - the YSL tribute pumps (but at less than half the price).

These are potentially on my list. Thanks to human nature*, I’d rather spend that extra cash and get the shoes I’ve always wanted than these really-just-as-good.
* I have accepted this as part of our nature thanks to the book I’m currently digesting - How Pleasure Works: The New Science of Why We Like What We Like. Mouthful! But decent read.

Stop wearing Uggs. They look ridiculous on you.
And oh my - the collaboration with Jimmy Choo has me all kinds of angry.

There is nothing about these boots (or any Ugg boots) that are attractive at all. It doesn’t help that females usually wear these with less than attractive jeans, or (even better) a denim skirt. Because that makes sense. It’s cold or it’s warm - pick one!!
I guess what I’m trying to say is that I think a pile of crap on your feet just isn’t all that attractive. Yeah, I get it, it’s comfortable. No, nevermind, I don’t get it, because there are plenty of other comfortable options out there that don’t make you look like you don’t care what you look like.
Enough of that.
I’m spending the weekend in Chicago with my fiancé to celebrate his birthday. One of my favourite US cities! So far, we’re sore from walking and our bellies are full - but we are oh so glad to be here.

Another reason why UPS sucks…
I was sitting at my desk at work, minding my own business, when all of a sudden, I get a package from UPS. Yay, goodies! I wasn’t expecting anything, but that’s okay! I open it with excitement, but find this:

A yearbook for UWO Medical & Dentistry 2010.
Hmmm. Confusion.
I didn’t go to Medical school, and actually, I didn’t even go to Western. Not only that, but I don’t know anyone that did (for Med anyway). I am thoroughly confused.
I chalk it up to UPS being stupid and me getting some poor girl’s yearbook. I don’t want to put too much effort into UPS’ mistake, but I will try my best to get this yearbook into the real recipients hands - I know all too well how it feels to lose packages. But dammit, UPS!!

I don’t normally like collaborative efforts like this - don’t get me wrong, I think it’s pretty cool that lowly people like us have access to such a limited collection designed by a great designer… but to me, if I’m going to spend money on a designer name, I will have a hard time justifying it if it’s something that is mass produced, in cheap-to-mediocre quality materials, with cheap-to-mediocre production processes. Snob, much? Sigh.
Regardless - nitrolicious.com posted the much anticipated price list for the collaboration. There are a few things on there that I actually like, but alas, don’t have the fight in me to wait hours/fight ravaging fashionistas.

I love the Ladies No. 20 dress, but I would have nowhere to go :(

From my thoughtful fiancé… A nice reminder of the Parisian sweets we feasted on a few weeks ago. What a nice surprise after dinner today :) And he cooks!
Ahhhh, moja laska!

This post is way overdue, but I wanted to post a few of the sights. If I could describe Paris in one word, it would be: LARGE.

Everything in Paris seems larger than life.
Paris was also my last hurrah of the shopping happiness for a while - now that I’ve got a wedding to pay for. And lots of trips coming up in the next few years. I feel so grown up.

Arc de Triomphe

Chateau de Versailles

A car we found on our way to Les Invalides - it was actually touching both cars. I’m not sure how that guy will ever get out, but it made for a good chuckle.
I regret that I didn’t take pictures of the food… so many carbs!
The Parisians dress very chic, and I noticed that my pair of jeans made me feel like I was wearing jogging pants. I can’t blame them, though - the shopping there was a-maz-ing - likely my favourite part of the trip. OHSOGOOD.
Au revoir, Europa! We’ll see you when the weather warms :)

Is OMG amazing. Beyond amazing. BEYOND beyond amazing.
Wow.

Now that is an amazing LBD.
I still have to post about my week in Paris, but I’m awfully busy and incredibly lazy. Moreso the lazy than the busy, but you know how it is…. no, I don’t know what that means. Anyways. I have to plan a wedding and multiple fun trips next year. Bye bye money-that-should-go-towards-a-spinal-cord-dress. Bye bye.

What a beautiful city! I didn’t think I would love it as much as I do - pre-vacation, I was anticipating more fun in Paris, and was hoping that the week in Prague would be spent sitting, full and slightly inebriated. I was all kinds of wrong.
While the beer and the wine was cheap and plentiful, you can only really take in so much during the breaks between the walking. Oh, the walking. So much walking! But I’m glad, because there is so much to see that is conveniently only a walk away (the length of the walk, however, varies).

The first few days were rainy and cold, but it was okay because I was in a beautiful city with a wonderful man and a visit from his gracious family.
To top off this week, my Boyfriend proposed in front of the Astronomical Clock in Old Town… What an amazing way to remember this week of my life!

I was incredibly sad to go - I miss those streets way more than one should miss a street. Prague is a place that is underrated and should you get the chance to visit, please do! The beer is cheap ;)

From the outside, they’re not overly spectacular - they’re a basic, nappa leather, almond-toed pair of black pumps. The magic, however, lies in Nike Air technology… which, to be honest, isn’t all that magical. It kind of feels like I’m wearing a decent insole, which is somewhat unfortunate given the amount of money these cost. Regardless. It’s a great silhouette and I can wear them for at least 8 hours straight (though I haven’t really ventured to try longer than that).

shoes: cole haan, shiny pants: talula babaton
Also, I need to get me some Wolfords - I have heard so many wonderful things about them, but I can’t seem to commit. Commitment issues bleeding into my hosiery life? Likely.
In other news, I think I have developed allergies that are preventing me from breathing properly - and am now the proud of owner of an inhaler. Total flashback to Sidekicks (which I totally own on DVD) (don’t judge me). Well, little inhaler friend, you’re coming on vacation with me! Pack yo’ bags.
