It finally came in! Isn’t it lovely? McQueen, I miss you. I also love that this picture is almost 3D-like. Thanks, 50mm lens, you’re the funnest lens I own (but don’t tell the others)! :)

I hope you’re all enjoying your sunny, hot day - I sure will be… enjoying it over a bottle of Shiraz Grenache and some meatballs that Boyfriend is creating. I like his new hobby :)

Girl, put some pants on.

My desk faces a window - don’t be jealous, it’s a view of condo buildings a stones throw away. There is a female that comes out directly across from me onto her back deck every afternoon and lays in a bean bag chair with her legs up against the railing - and every day, her outfit is a surprise. Last week, she came out with just a blanket. Today, a bikini top and hot shorts.

Yeah, I get it. It’s hot out.

Yeah, outside of myself, it’s a bunch of dudes ogling you - but c’mon woman! Have some self respect. Let’s put your tata’s and booty away! We don’t want to see it - well, I certainly don’t want to see it.

This weekend was nice, but I’m still staring at a monitor. I’m so sad about this.

Sooo…

Snicker, snicker. ;)

Relaxing weekend.

Lots of sun, lots of movies and a splash of reading. New spectacles cause I’m slowly going blind - I’m afraid that by the time I’m old and grey, I won’t be able to see what’s in front of me. Need more carrots! ;)

Paige adds leather!

Posted: May 18th, 2010 | Author: A.J. | Filed under: fashion | 1 Comment »

I love denim and I love leather - and together, they make the perfect match! So, I was pretty glad to hear that Paige is planning on launching a leather line as well.

The first go at leather will include 5 different styles of lambskin jackets that will be releasing in July - prices ranging from $200-325 (not confirmed that this is MSRP).

One of my favourite outfits is really soft, girly, lacy materials coupled with a sexy asymmetrical leather jacket. And a pair of Doc Martens :)

I’m not usually one for the denim companies expanding into other categories (I say stick to what you’re good at), but I have noticed that some Rock & Republic shoes and bags have caught my eye (though I try to convince myself that they aren’t as awesome as I think, just because a denim company designed them). I must get that out of my head.

In other news, I am reading a Stieg Larsson book (the first of the trilogy: The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) and I can’t put it down - I was skeptical, but after reading 300+ pages in just 3 days, I think it’s safe to say that it’s a good one *thumbs up*. It’s just a shame that I can’t buy this for the Kindle yet (shush boyfriend, you and your Kobo!)

Rebecca Minkoff Holiday 2010

I didn’t really coin Minkoff as a fashion designer. Her bags are alright (at one point, I really wanted a Morning After bag, but after I saw it in person, the leather just didn’t rub me the right way). However, I saw the Minkoff dresses (like this one - swooooon!) and my faith was restored.

I love the quilting of the leather! Of course, it’d be something I’d have to touch in person, but that swingpack is definitely an idea.

Toms footwear - Fall 2010

Posted: May 11th, 2010 | Author: A.J. | Filed under: shoes | 3 Comments »

I love shoes. (Almost) any kind (hate Uggs). I am digging the Fall 2010 line of Toms Footwear. I used to say, “if I were a dude, I’d rock those” - but whatever, I’d still rock them, girly-girl and all.

I want the first pair (purple).. I can see myself sightseeing in those. Or, camping (except, I don’t camp, so when I say “camping”, it’s this imaginary photo-shoot-perfect-like awesome camping extravaganza) (when really, I’m sure it’d just be a tent, rain, and me whining).

Neverending story.

Posted: May 9th, 2010 | Author: A.J. | Filed under: jewelry | 2 Comments »

I’m not really an accessories person (outside of shoes, of course), and other than a pair of pearl earrings I bought when I was visiting my family in Calgary a few years ago and a watch I gifted myself after landing a particular job two years ago (diamonds!), I don’t wear any jewelry. I’m a plain jane.

Except that I am really liking animal jewelry. I might actually cave and add some of this type of flare to my life.

Kenneth Jay Lane - Snake ring.
$135 at net-a-porter.

Kenneth Jay Lane - Seahorse necklace.
$180 at net-a-porter.

Alexander McQueen - Coiled snake necklace.
$366 CAD at saksfifthavenue.com.

(btw, I called this post ‘Neverending Story’ because the McQueen piece reminds me of the Serpentine necklace from the movie - have I ever mentioned how much I used to swooon over Jonathan Brandis circa Neverending Story II? What a dreamboat.)

Although - I just bought myself a fine piece of jewelry. There was a huge sale that I happened to stumble upon and I got a 14K necklace with diamonds retailing $900 for more than 65% off. With that kind of discount, I also got my momsa a little sumthin’ sumthin’.

Oh! And I wanted to share a really interesting movie that Boyfriend & I watched last night. What a strange, weird and hilarious movie.

Exit Through The Gift Shop - a Banksy film.

Hope all is well out in the blogosphere. I am going to enjoy the rest of my Sunday recovering (I am feeling not-so-well - think it’s something to do with the weather) by reading a book (hallo book) and enjoying some peppermint tea.

Colour story.

Posted: May 6th, 2010 | Author: A.J. | Filed under: fashion | No Comments »

Hi all! It’s been a while. I’ve been busy. Busier than busy. I am losing out on the pretty, sunny, kind-of-warm days of late as I’ve been stuck in the office for longer than normal. Perhaps it’s a new ‘normal’? I digress.

My wardrobe consists of a handful of colours: black, grey, white and fuchsia. I thought I’d change that this year and have purchased a whole slew of pretty, colourful (and some floral! gasp!) dresses (though, I’ve had to order them online cause I’m usually at the office for so long that stores close without me, *sadface*).

One of the dresses I bought is the Diane von Furstenburg Madamoiselle X dress.

DvF Spring 2010 rtw.

It’s gorgeous, right? I die. It’s so light, airy and silky chiffon-wonderfulness against the skin. I can’t wait until the weather warms up and I can wear it!

In conclusion: I need to put my stupid credit card away.

My Barbie.

I was at the Elle Show this afternoon with a girlfriend and there was a Barbie booth where we could design our own Barbie… and there is mine! Black scarf, laptop and black booties… Now I want to dye my hair that colour!

Playing with the barbie reminded me of how much I loved my Barbies growing up… except my Barbies were way less chic.
