Whatagwan!
So it’s been a while since I’ve posted anything really - but I’ve had pretty good reason. Nothing’s really been going on. I made job-switcheroo and there has been no downtime at all. I’m usually an “inbox-zero” person, where I can’t feel organized if my inbox hasn’t been filtered and all read and filed - but over the last few weeks, I’ve been lucky if the number of unopened items have dipped below 300. My Google Reader is up over 1000 unread entries. I feel so out of the loop.
So I thought I’d spend this quiet (finally) Saturday morning pouring over my emails and news feeds to catch up. This also requires some sharing - my list of stuff that’s happened and that are kind of neat.
Spent an excellent long weekend in Montreal. Unfortunately, we did not get any poutine while we were there, but we did find a fabulous Polish restaurant named Stash Cafe in Vieux-Montreal - and they had killer Bigos and Pierogies. The place was packed and there was a pianist at the front of the room - I am on the search for something similiar here in Toronto.
There was plenty of walking and sight-seeing. Montreal was pleasant but I was happy to be back home.
I returned to my geek roots and bought something pretty geeky. I’ve been meaning to buy a laptop for quite some time, but I couldn’t justify it because I knew that if I were to buy one, I’d treat it like a desktop computer. I would keep it on a table and it would never go anywhere else. So the perfect option was to get an Acer AspireOne Netbook. It’s tiny, it’s light, and it does the job. I can’t wait to take it on planes and trains with me.
This was purely impulse (I had a passing, “hey, a netbook would be neat” thought that lead to a purchase three hours later), so I’m going to play with it and decide whether or not it is as awesome as I thought.
It’s my birthday soon! And I get to spend it with my family in Calgary!!! I am uber excited to see them again - it’s been over a year since I’ve seen them. Only a few more weeks!!!! And I plan on doing some excellent shopping while I’m there - Holts, you’d better be ready. Sigh :D
And I have now lost my energy to update anything else. Perhaps I shall update again next month :) Actually, I hope it’ll be sooner now that I have my netbook - I have confirmed that if you have subscribed to Bell for your internet service, you get free internet at Starbucks. Oh hells yeah.
I miss yoga.
Have a good Saturday!
