A letter from FutureMe.

Getting up this morning felt no different from any other day - although it should, considering it’s the first day of 2009 (hope you all had a safe one!). Instinctively, I grabbed my blackberry and started going through my emails that landed in my inbox overnight.

And that’s when I saw it. The letter from FutureMe. An email I sent myself a year ago, through the FutureMe.org service.

Dear FutureMe,

One year ago, you decided that you were going to really hunker down and start going to the gym regularly. Have you?

This year, you’ll be turning 25 - a fairly large milestone. I hope you accomplish as much as you can before your birthday so that you can look back and realize how much you have going for yourself.

And… stop throwing shit when you’re angry.

It was creepy and kind of cool getting a letter like that. I might draft one up for myself again for next year. For those planning resolutions this year, it might be helpful to send yourself an email once a quarter/every 6 months to check up on yourself.

Anyways, off to dinner… at chez Martin. I’ll be heading out of the country for a week, so I’ll see y’all when I see ya.

I think that’s neat.. you know what would be super weird is if you used that service and tried to predict the future to your future self to see how close you go, it’d be some shit if you got it and it was dead on!
