Whatever.

I got a good chuckle over that. Definitely made my Friday a little more fun. Or, it made my Friday at the office a little more bearable. Tomato, Tomatoe.

Boyfriend’s pick: Marc Jacob’s Kari Quilted Tote

Posted: June 27th, 2009 | Author: A.J. | Filed under: handbags | No Comments »

Boyfriend & I strolled through Holt’s today and he decided to point out a handbag that he had considered buying for me for my birthday (though, I’m glad he didn’t - I am uber happy with what he actually got me, A+ for thoughtfulness) - and I was actually quite impressed with his choice.

The Marc Jacobs Kari Quilted tote. It was uber cute that he remembered that Marc Jacobs is one of my favourite designers - definite points for that.

He was telling me about the leather and how great the hardware was… Swoon :) Just the thought of him looking for a bag for me made my year.

If your boyfriend had to pick a bag for you, what would it be?

Instead of the thrill of the win. Or, in my case, fail.

BCBG Wedges are flying home

Hanging out in Calgary and saw these babies. The vamp peeptoe reminds me of the YSL Tribute shoes - but with an incredibly comfortable wedge (with an interesting paint dripping effect). They are flying home with me :)

I have a problem.

I just hope that whoever is with me when I try these babies on knows to stop me from making any crazy decisions. Ugh, but they are LOVE.

Summer, where are you?

This is irritating. It’s June, and I still have to wear a sweater outside (although yesterday was the exception, it was gah-geous - but rain today?).

My theme for this year is to go out and try out new hobbies, so a few days ago, my coworker took me to her Spinning studio. I had only gone spinning once before in my life, and it was at my gym. So, I figured, why not give a studio a try? Oh man. Not my thing. It was hot, sweaty, and intense. The music is as loud as the club-scene and the instructor was either really angry or was fond of using his angry voice to provoke us. FYI: I do not respond well to yelling. I am pretty sure that about half-way through it, I was going to pass out. It was a challenging 60 minutes - that I will probably never, ever do again.

Thanks to the spinning class, my ass has been sore ever since. It hurts to sit and it made it really hard to focus when I went to a Meditation clinic yesterday morning at my Yoga studio. We had to sit on zafu pillows to align our spine, and instead of focusing on the ambiance or my breathe, I found my mind scolding me for even trying to Spin. There was a lot of woosah-ing.

Fun fact: did you know that the city of Toronto is now charging .05$ for every plastic bag? That means if you go to the grocery store and you need a plastic bag for your goods, you are charged for it? For some reason, I assumed this new charge was for grocery stores only - but I was wrong. Bought a few pairs of shoes (mmmmm) the other day and I was forced to pay for the bags. This means that I should start carrying one of the eco-friendly foldable bags in my purse at all times. Which is a pain, but still good.

Hope you have a good Sunday :)

Give your seat up!

This evening, I was sitting on the subway on my way home from work when an old man boarded the train. He was an older gentleman (probably in his 70’s or so) and he was holding a newspaper in one hand and a cane in the other (that he was balancing on). Because it was the tail end of rush hour, there were no available seats so he was forced to stand near the doorway.

He wasn’t standing too close to me, but as soon as I saw him trying to balance on the moving train with his cane, I got up and walked towards him. I told him he could take my seat, but when I turned around, some lady stole my seat. Luckily, the train was stopping at a station, so someone got up out of their seat and I helped the older gentleman into the free seat.

First of all - I am so sure that I was the ONLY person that would give up my seat for the old man. I wasn’t even sitting close to me! That really makes me incredibly angry.

And secondly - what’s up with the lady stealing my seat? Sure, I got up, but what the heck! Did no one else see the older gentleman?!?!!

This works me up. I was infuriated and I wanted to yell at everyone for being incredibly inconsiderate. Why wouldn’t you give your seat up for an old man! Karma, goddammit.

Sigh.

After 60+ years, it’s official.

Also, I was unaware that the characters had blogs. Veronica is my homegirl.
