Makes my heart melt!
Jeffrey Campbell will be releasing a limited collection called TRIBUTE to commemorate Lee! Part of the sales will go to a charity in honor of Alexander McQueen.
TRIBUTE:

In honor of McQueen’s ‘Armadillo’ shoes:

I can’t believe I’m so late to this party!
In other news… 2 months until vacation time! I haven’t been on vacation in over a year… I am truly going crazy and am borderline insane. Just 2 more months, he reminds me.

I have rekindled my love for Dr. Martens. I am on the search for a pair of nude high-tops that I saw a girl wearing on Queen street - I die.
Until then, however, feast your eyes on this collabo!

I love the red ones in the third picture! They’re fab.

I was flipping through it at Chapters and it is so stunning! I love Margiela! If I ever have children, I might just name mine Margiela (female, of course).
Or Yigal.
Or Alexander.
:)
Happy Friday! I am going to spend my weekend catching up on sleep and… yeah. Sleeeeep.

I am kind of surprised with the collaboration that surfaced recently - Douglas Coupland designed a few wearable items and accessories for Roots.. I have read a few of his books, so while I’m surprised an author decided to take on this type of assignment, I’m pleased with some of the pieces that he’s come up with. It’s very true to his nature.
Oooh, circuit-board skirt, scarf and leggings! I think at the very least, the skirt (and the scarf) will have to be added to my closet.

Thanks for the heads up, geekigirl! Images are from roots.com.
Also… Hey! It’s been a while. I’m still here! I’m trying not to melt in this humid, hot, awful mess of a city… and I have been in hiding since Bieber/Earthquake/G20/Blackout. Oh, Toronto - so full of surprises.

And, another year passes!
To celebrate my birthday, my wonderful and incredibly thoughtful girlfriends took me on an adventure - an eating in the dark adventure at O.NOIR!
What an interesting experience.
In a lit area (photo above), you are able to pick your entire meal. The waiters/waitresses are all blind, and they then lead you into a dark, dark, incredibly dark room. For some reason, I had assumed that when they said “eating in the dark”, they actually meant “eating in the semi-dark - there’ll be a nightlight of some sort around”. Oh man, I was wrong.
I went with 3 of my girlfriends, but it was really like I was eating alone. I could feel my food, my utensils, and could only gauge the emptiness of my plate with my fingers.
Let me tell you - losing the ability to see - even if it was for just that one hour of my life - was incredibly terrifying. I am uber thankful that I was with them, of all people, to experience this. It makes you grateful for the ability to see.
O.NOIR has 2 locations in Canada: one in Montreal and the other here, in Toronto.

Helloooo folks! I am posting from Niagara Falls. Boyfriend has taken me here because he owes me big time. :)
We haven’t really done anything outside of eating a whole bunch, drinking a bunch of wine, and enjoying the in-suite jacuzzi a lot. The weather is mediocre (rainy), but I am enjoying catching up with my reading on the couch, mostly unplugged (I brought my laptop… can’t take the geek out of the girl) and doing a bit of walking. Tonight is a fun little Brazilian steakhouse and then to the casino. I am still working on my 5-year plan to become the WSOP chipleader (ha).
In fashion news - I have returned the McQueen skull ring. I loved it, but it didn’t fit (the smallest 5.75 was too big for my finger and kept sliding).. sadface. It hurt to pack it up again and to return it, but it belongs with someone else.. someone with a 5.75 finger. Sigh.
Have a restful (not the web services type ;P) weekend! I’m thirsty.
